Happy Together: The Very Best of the Turtles

The Turtles

The Turtles are one of the most fondly remembered ’60s pop acts—quite an achievement considering that they came up in an era dominated by Motown, The Beatles and other musical giants. After releasing a series of chart-topping singles, including the #1 hit "Happy Together," the band broke up in 1970. Singers Mark Volman and Howard Kaylan continued as a duo under the name Flo & Eddie, recording albums, hosting their own syndicated radio show, and singing backup for T. Rex, John Lennon, Bruce Springsteen, Blondie, and many others. In 1985, they reformed The Turtles as a very successful touring outfit.

Happy Together: The Very Best Of The Turtles collects the band’s biggest hits, including the career-defining "Happy Together" and Top 20 smash hits "You Showed Me," "You Baby," and "Elenore." The album also features an early Warren Zevon-penned song, "Outside Chance," and Bob Dylan’s "It Ain’t Me Babe," as well as the classic protest anthem "Eve of Destruction."
