The Study is a classic compositional device: composers can build an object in sound starting from a single brick, a technical-digital movement which, when explored in all its potentialities, gives birth to a work. Towards the end of nineties both Manca and Taglietti wrote some piano studies inspired by distinctly musical ideas. The meeting with pianist Antonio Sardi de Letto gave them the idea for offering an image of the piano at the beginning of the new century through this work.
