About Me
Living in the South-West of United Kingdom, born in Szczecin, Poland, which would be called a north-western capital of underground music of Poland, situated not far, just 150 miles away from European ‘Heart of underground Techno’, the Berlin city. Milos Kovalevsky started mixing at age of 15 in Year 1998, connecting his first old gramophone to an old amplifier and finally using computer CD-ROM drive as the second channel. Before this experiment, Milos used to remix music recorded on the cassette tapes, looping song phrases using ‘cheap’ cassette double-deck recorder. His passion for mixing expanded to collecting vinyls and more audio equipment. He did experiment on spool tapes, too, mixing recorded sets. Milos Kovalevsky, the regular customer of Techno club ‘Oszolom’ – later known as ‘Neuron’ – could see professional DJs at work and meet them later to join their group. At the same time he could learn about new styles and genres throughout listening to underground radio audition in very known and popular radio station in Poland – ‘RMF FM’. The audition called “TMM FM” (‘Technical School of Music Mechanization’) presented and promoted music of all time classic’s ever made in following styles like: Garage, Hardcore, House, Maximal, Minimal, Detroit Techno, Rave, Tech-House, funky beats and many other. Later in the Year 2002, Milos has started his new job as sound engineer in ‘Mezzoforte’ club in Szczecin, where he learned basics in three-deck’ spinning and scratching in spare time. He met there local DJs, VJs, bands, radio presenters, producers, photographers and filmmakers, but because his musical path was different from the one the club was promoting that day he hasn’t ever given chance to play there on the regular party. However, in the Year 2003 he was invited to play in club ‘Neuron’, the home of techno formation, ‘Neuroshocked’ (http://www.neuroshocked.pl). After the club has moved in 2004 into bigger place under new name ‘Crossed Pistons’, Milos could support there D.A.V.E The Drummer in Blue Room playing for V.I.P. members. In event of emergency he was able to operate for few weeks ‘Neurologia’ – radio audition owned by the formation. In May 2005 he left the job in ‘Mezzoforte’ and just a month later went to England, the ‘heart of acid techno’ with hope that he will find better financial support in his life. Settled in Southampton in Hampshire county, Milos started learning complete new skills – live-act performing, producing and mastering tracks. He set up his own bedroom studio and attended course for radio operations at BBC in Evesham, trying to make his dreams come true. Learning everything from the beginning, trying hard to become internationally recognized DJ and producer. Milos Kovalevsky also started to make photographs and to collect slides for his future projects and performances. The arts he inspired of are the music and arts of Milos’s favourite artist – Jeff Mills.Milos’s most favourite record labels are Axis, Zenit, Primate, Apex, Tresor, Pornographic, LK-Rec, MB Selections, Conform, High Octane, Drumcode, U-Turn and others.
