About Me
here is a little about me and my music I auditioned for Johnnie High's Country Music Review in Arlington, Texas in November 2005, and I had the pleasure of performing there on January 27, 2006. I have appeared on local and national television programs, as well as internationally. My songs "True Blue Cowboy" and "Motherload" have earned me respect from those in the music industry and I received accolades for my skills including winning the 2006 North American Country Music Association International "Male Vocalist of the Year" and the "USA World Showcase" TV viewer award with an astounding 2 million votes! I am so very thankful to everyone for their terrific support! On Oct,28th 2006, I was nominated for seven "Mississippi Best" awarads. It is s special awards program to bring recognize those that have ties to the state of Mississippi and stride to make it a better place to live. The Mississippi Best Awards show took place at the Telcom Center in downtown Jackson. More than forty awards were handed out to folks from all walks of life and talents. I was truly honored to receive seven awards, including: MBA BEST GOSPEL ARTIST, MBA BEST COUNTRY ARTIST, MBA OVERALL ENTERTAINER, MBA BREAKOUT RECORDING ARTIST, MBA BEST WEBSITE, MBA MISSISSIPPI BEST KEPT SECRET, And MBA MOST LIKELY TO SUCCEED - MALE I was featured in a book that is sold online and at major book stores across America. The "100 Young Americans" book was released in Fall 2007. It captures first-hand, what it means to be young in America today. Through images and short biographies, the book presents a diverse group of one-hundred young people from all fifty states. It paints a picture of youth culture in America. Emmy-Award winning director/photographer Michael Franzini has joined with HarperCollins, one of the world's leading publishers, to create this mass-market book. On February 17, 2007, I was in Nashville, Tennessee, and spent some quality time at The Sound Kitchen, a premiere recording studio. I was privileged to work with some of Nashville's most talented musicians for an exciting project to help showcase my music. The session players included musicians with a rich history in the music industry. Eddie Bayers (Drums) and (Sesson Leader): Eddie was named "Best Drummer" by the CMA, three years in a row. He has played for Tanya Tucker, Ricky Skaggs, and George Strait, just to name a few. Bruce Watkins (Fiddle & Mandolin): Bruce has played for Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, George Jones, Alabama, Alan Jackson, and Barry Manilow. And, joining me on background vocals: (Billy & Chip Davis) Chip Davis sings background vocals for everyone form Dianne Warren to Dolly Parton.
